why has nobody ever replied to this???
Unfortunately, on busy days sometimes posts get lost, like this one probably did.
However - congratulations to 18thTomorrow on one of the lowest cost switching stories I've heard. A G3 with monitor for $150? Sweet.

Why is that? Sorry I just do not have a clue? Is it because of the graphics card or ghz?

Hi,
Has anyone been able to force an apple store to guarantee a Lion O/S upgrade for free with the purchase of a Macbook pro now?
Just curious.
Thanks!
Why would you be able to, apple owes you nothing and you aren't entitled to anything either.

Many people discuss iOS in either the iPhone or iPad forums. Or possibly down in a software forum. I think we need a Forum for iOS discussion. Preferably at the top or bottom of the iPhone, iPad and iPod forums. Since these devices, the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad are now converging at 4.2, many features and elements relating to betas, release dates, and other functionality is relevant to all types of iOS device and it would be nice to have a central place to discuss it.
If there already is a place, it is neither obvious or easy to find. Nor should it be lumped into any of the main forums in Apple Applications or Apple Systems & Services without at least having its own sub-forum.

Anyway, yea hard to ship something when UPS store is closed for labor day weekend haha. I was at a wedding in Salt Lake until Friday, I made that clear to those interested in buying it. It's being shipped two day air on Tuesday everyone, so stop wigging out, I've sold many things on here and never cheated anyone. And thank you w8ing.

I hadn't bought a physical book in a long time. I always by e-books. They're much more easily searchable than physical books, I can cross-reference with a click on a hyperlink, I don't have to wait or pay for shipped (which to Australia can be more than the cost of the book), and I don't have to find a place to physically store it.
The only issue would be if you need to access the book side-by-side with your work. This isn't a problem for me because I have 2 large screens. If you only have one smallish screen, then this may be an issue. Unless you have an iPad and can view the book on the iPad while you work. ;)

It could, but it doesn't have that much space. I would hook it up to an external raid array.
I would recommend a Drobo S. (http://www.drobo.com/products/drobo-s.php)
It is not cheep, but I have 9 gigs of drives in it, 6 available. Great product, keeps your data safe, it's fast, and easily expandable.
I see you got FCP in your sig, i use Premiere CS5 and Photoshop you suggest the drobo would be good stuff like that? I have checked out the drobo before, they do look good. I just need something i can remote into and control when im away kick off downloads etc...as the server will be headless (no monitor)

Have you tried it on someone else's computer other than yours, to make sure it's a FF/IE/Safari code issue and not an issue with the settings of FF and IE or of QT on your computer? For instance link it and let us try?
Also, if you force-specify the MIME type by adding:
type="audio/x-mp3"
to the <embed> tag, what happens?

I typed "crappy mac" into Bing and Apple's store was a sponsored result. :apple:
I clicked it so Apple could pay Microsoft for the click.

I'll glance at it when back online. Post it as a bug, the worst they can do is mark it as a duplicate.

I just found a vulnerability in the OS X password security. I can bypass the exact password as long as the password is correct up to the second to last character. For example, if the password is "Macintosh", the system will accept any of the following as valid:
"Macintos"
"Macintosh"
"Macintos[char++]"
"Macintos[int++]"
"Macintosh[char++]"
"Macintosh[int++]"
"Macintos"
"Macintosh"

In my experience, they show you a video about how great it is to work in retail and then make you do some dumb role playing exercises and then you go home and never hear from them again.

How about 1080p movies in full screen mode? Does it look bad? Do you guys prefer watching it through a window at 1080p?
No, it looks very awesome. Since there are no movies at 1440p there is no comparison though.
Laughing at our mistakes can lengthen our own life. Laughing at someone else's can shorten it - Cullen Hightower
And your point is? Also: Never herd of this guy.

It all depends on what type of case person you may be. I have the satin seethru and the Incase snap out of both of them I prefer the speck seethru but the only major downfall of it is that if you like switching cases offer the soft silicone part starts coming apart from the hard plastic.
