I believe the same post sounds some what fishy, check this guys posts all the way back from 07 to till now.

USCIS going all the way back to 1999, that too dependent's I-94 card which has a month expired.
Why on earth an attorney didn't suggested to use nunc pro trunc which facilitates saying person is maintaining legal status after the recent entry.
What is your problem mister? What will a person get here to post a fishy message? If you can not offer any help then it is better to read and ignore. Instead of hurting someones feeling. I guess you do not understand how does it feel when some one tells you " you will be thrown out from this country with in few days after spending 10 yrs here".

Well if it is clearly mentioned in the offer letter that Employer will cover the GC cost, then isnt the employer supposed to pay for it irrespective of when the labor was filed. It was filed in 2006.
Btw, i am on AOS if that is what was meant from my legal status..

Why not use people who already agreed to volunteer before by looking at their profiles?

You cannot change employer unfortunately with just I-140 approved. You need to apply for I-485, be with the current employer for 180 days and then you are eligible

Hello,
If you want to go through the process for UK visa, then it is much better to get the 10 year multi entry visa ... it costs you bit more, but then you don't have to worry about transit visa anymore (esp when BA, Virgin, Jet and Kingfisher offer good deals)...
The 10 yr visa takes 2 weeks flat...

You are not the only one to get that message. Info pass appointments are tough to get now. Check during odd hours. I finally found one after hours. ASC's are NOT the same as Field offices. Also Some Field offices require you to show the corresponding state drivers license.
Since my current EAD is expiring Sep 10th, I'm planning to go to the local USCIS office for an interim EAD in first week of Sep.
What is the procedure, do i need to take infopass or any other apoointment or just walk in with papers ?
It's not yet been 90 days since i filed, but i still want to give it a shot. I plan to take a letter from my employer saying without interim EAD (without me being able to work) company would face a setback in a critical phase of project.
I also plan to use such a letter in support of an expedite request.
Gurus please advice:
- How soon should I fax expedite request?
- How soon/late should i go to local USCIS office for interim EAD?
- Could one interfere the other?

Hi All,
I was sponsored by Company A. Also they are sponsoring my GC. I have a pending i-485 since my PD is Nov2006.
Company B has bought Company A. What should I do now?
1) Do I have to ask them to file a fresh H1?
2) how would the GC process be transfered to the new company that took over?

I am in the similar situation but we never know when and what documents are needed since every day immigration law is changing, keeping that in mind, I renewed mine and my spouse�s EAD

When last time we entered in USA in Feb 2009, We used our H1/H4 visa to enter even if we had our AP in hand. So Her I-94 will show H4 stamping.
Will that make her ineligible for Applying for FAFSA?

Before I say any thing further, I want to clarify that I am NOT asking for any action but want to point out to a unique Gandhigiri protest idea proposed by one of our members:
On one of the posts rajmehrotra suggested "Something like a mass blood donation drive will garner empathy and publicity in a positive way." This was seconded by another member Gravitation. Not sure what other people think but I personally liked this idea very much.
So please save this idea for future use if others also recommend it.

my knowledge is also limited...
but from my J1 days this is what i understood:
J1 is NOT a dual intent visa.
All J1 have some requirements to fulfill before applying for GC
For physicians it is a 2 yr Home requirement OR underserved area practice
For researchers etc a No objection is needed from the home country for a waiver
Therefore you cannot file for adjustment of status while still on a J1 unless you have the relevant waiver. It will certainly be rejected.
Physicians who get a waiver move to an H1 during their 3 year practice requirement. The NIW is a special case here, 485 filing is permitted but no approval till 5 years are over.

If the cause of wobble on your tripod is the effect of you touching the camera to change the settings, you may want to try the auto-bracketing [although if you have a P&S type camera, it may not have auto-bracketing], which takes three (or five) shots with varying levels of under/over exposure [you can select how much on each photo, and adjust where you start from by adjusting the overall exposure compensation, so if you set +/-1 stop and then start with +1, you get 0, +1 and +2 exposures of the same subject, taken in sequence by the camera...]

My lawyer mentioned that we have to be in same or similar position at the time filing I-1485 and when its being adjudicated. After filing and before adjudicating we can be in any other position.

I agree with PCS. We should keep this as a volunteer organisation and send email newsletter,word of the mouth etc, for fundraising. I am not sure if we should impose a membership fee as this is a volunteer org and also people who want to donate money would do it anyways. Just my thought:D

Wasn't it Condi who said that this fiasco was a 'small inconvenience' to the applicants ??
