Given that Apple seem to favour ATI chips for their high-end laptops I think that this is quite an interesting announcement. We may well see this chip in future PowerBooks. What is really interesting about this chip is that is supports Avivo.
What is so interesting about Avivo? Avivo supports hardware H.264 (http://www.ati.com/technology/h264.html) decode acceleration. This could mean that next-generation PowerBooks can decode full 1080p HD content. Probably at under 50% CPU usage.

I've been waiting and waiting, like many others for the white iPhone 4 to be released, and have been disappointed. I think I'm going to get a used iPhone 4 black (hopefully in shotty condition for cheap) and buy the white kit and transfer.
Questions:
Will the proximity sensor work?
Will the earpiece work?
Are these faulty in all white conversions?
How bad is the camera really?
Any insight would be very much appreciated.

Good for them. Amazon is going to have to play by the same rules as everyone else.
The bigger issue though is whether tax breaks do any good. There's some evidence that companies search out the best deals and then jump ship when they find better ones.
VW and the state of Saxony in Germany are a good example of a long-term and mutually beneficial public/private relationship.
Why give a break if the company only has low wage, low benefit jobs? Wouldn't it be better to help provide financing and long term staying power if the company makes use of the graduates from your schools?
The short term mentality of so many American capitalists makes for a lot of wealthy gamblers but does nothing for the long term stability of American society.

I would try a Mr. Clean Magic eraser on a small spot on the bottom to see how it cleans. It should work well. I used it on my old black MacBook and it made it look like new again. Don't use it on the LCD however. Get Monster LCD cleaning solution (it comes in a blue bottle for like $20). It's well worth it, the consistency of the liquid is a gel type spray so it won't ever run even if you spray directly onto the screen panel itself.
Back to the magic eraser, it removes pesky oily spots that appear to look like wear on the keys/hand rests/track pad. I haven't found any way to officially clean my macbook until I used them.

Why not just leave them, since they're not hurting anything by being there. I'm sure if you did enough research, you could find the purpose for each file, but why waste the time?

It really, really depends on what your platform and application is. NO ONE can give you good advise without knowing those two things. You probably want a consultant to help you design this properly if you aren't an expert.

Not trying to steal interest from this board, but check out Spymac's newest offerings. It's almost a literal free .mac package. I've signed up and don't plan on renewing .mac (I made the decision not to renew long before Spymac).

I got the Dr. Bott mini DisplayPort Extension Pro cable (http://store.apple.com/us/product/H2477ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDA3Ng&mco=MTg5OTIwMTE&s=topSellers) (2meter). Note, that link is to the Apple site but I didn't buy it there since almost anywhere else is cheaper.
There are others on the market too and other lengths (e.g., Dr. Bott has a 1m cable). The only two "problems" associated with mDP extension cables are (a) they may be hard to find in stock -- Dr. Bott was a problem at the time I went looking for them and (b) if you want to be able to pass audio through the mDP you need to make sure the cable supports that. For example you can find mDP extension cables in a lot of places but not all also support the audio (for example, monoprice (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10246&cs_id=1024602&p_id=5502&seq=1&format=2)).

I think im just going to borrow a snow leopard disk from a friend and install it that way. Just curious though, when I had my own copy in my disk drive my windows pc wouldnt recognize it, how am I supposed to install boot camp off it?

Screenaid should be in the Hall of Shame.. Maybe yours was a beginners luck purchase but keep ordering and they'll get you. Google screenaid before you order anything. Several of my colleagues in the industry have blacklisted them

Does anyone know "if" or when a refresh for Time Capsule 1T is coming out? It has been some time now, and I have read users have had issues with it.
Some users have had their hard drives go out, losing their data after about 1.5 years of use. :confused: It is in multiple feedback entries on Apple's Store site...
Any thoughts? I would like to purchase one, but I am reconsidering...would like some advise. Thanks

I suppose with things like this you've got nowhere to go once you've moved in. Obviously no one else will want to buy the house once everyone finds out it's true past. It sounds awful.
