My local dealer is going to charge me about 55USD for fixing this problem. I can't believe users like us are PAYING the fix for a KNOWN issue. I hope the firmware works! Thanks a lot!!!

So you would recomend the v600 over the v400 as far as battery life and quality?
It all depends. I liked the V600 better than the V400 for these reasons.
It was made out of Metal/Aluminium instead of plastic.
I seemed to be able to hear better on it. Although i think it was do mainly to ergonomics.
I liked the look and feel of it much better. To me the V400 was the beta, and the V600 was the final product.
I value style, and durability, so I went with the V600. Also, I had a V60 which I loved. Possibly the best phone I have ever owned, and the V600 remind me much of it. I'm sure was a big part of my decision.
And as for battery life, if I remember correctly it was about the same. No huge difference.
So I guess if your an average user, The V400 is a good fit.

I know there is some software that lets u bypass the firewire requiremtn.
I got one a while back that iddnt work, where can i get some software that will allow me to use it. I need the tried and true. I hate getting my hopes up and downloading stuff just to get it not to work :confused:

Go into Windows Explorer and right click on the disk (if you mean the CD or DVD) and select "EJECT".
Btw, the OPTION key is not used to eject optical media from the ODD, the EJECT key on the top right of the keyboard is used for that.

I'm assuming its all charged up/plugged in so I'll go from there with things you've probably alreayd done
1. reset pmu/ change powersource
2. reset pram
3. check to see if the machine's backlight is off....can you hear any noises?
4. try booting from a cd ?
good luck, but if this fails you'll probably be listenting to the genius estiamte the repair time/cost

Howdy. I have a Logitech G5, Logitech G9, and Razer Lachesis. I love 'em all but none has a Mac driver. :(
Do you use a laser mouse? If so, which do you use?
(I don't game, but the higher sensitivity works nicely for larger screen resolutions and some graphic design)

So I have a Rev C. 667 powerbook and it won't boot up when I press the power button?
Any thoughts on this before I make a trip to the Apple store.....(oh, and its a work computer and they didn't get AppleCare - stupid I know, but I wasn't paying for it.....)

Traffic increased dramatically today for unclear reasons.
One person had mentioned that the site was mentioned on TechTV last night... so perhaps it was again on TechTV today.
Regardless, I apologize for the downtime today. The server just wasn't prepared for it. As a result, we had to shut down the forums for a while, and have now limited the forums to registered users only.

The part I'm least confident about is the networking (mobile devices connecting to the Mac without any of them having Internet access). I'm not a networking expert so I'm unclear what I need to do.
If they are in wifi range of the Mac then it is just like any other LAN to the devices. They would use the local IP address of the Mac to connect to it and then they can just access web pages as normal.
So they might connect to:
http://192.168.1.1/web_app/
for instance and then it just behaves exactly the same as any other website. Remember if you are just making a website you do not need to worry about the network except to make sure they have WiFi access or a wired connect at all times. Obviously if one of those requirements is not met then they would not be able to get access to the Mac and therefore the web app.

What's everyone's favorite CMS and what kind of CMS do you have? Recently I've been taking web development more seriously and have been working primarily with Drupal. I really enjoy Wordpress though and find it much easier to teach a client how to use WP3 compared to D7. I've never tried Joomla, and have been seeing what all the fuss is about RoR a couple years late :p.
My next personal project is a niche community site, trying to decide what would be the best fit. I know another drupal developer who has much more experience, but we don't know if it'd be the ideal platform for what we want to create.

CD-Wow are selling that for 20 quid. Almost bought it till I remembered how much better Roller Coaster Tycoon was, though I might pick it up for portable sim-ability.
