Kate Upton To Host Charity Benefit For Horses
As you may or may not already know, the goddess Kate Upton is a 5 time World Champion horseback rider who was ranked 3rd in the nation prior to embarking on her modelling career. On her Twitter profile she describes herself thusly: modeling... sushi... horses. Clearly this is one girl who really loves horses. And so she's putting that love into action as she will be hosting the second annual Ferdinand’s Ball May 5, 2011 at the Frazier International History Museum in downtown Louisville. So in short, if you're going to be in Louisville, Kentucky on May 5th you could get yourself into the same room as Kate... and do a good thing too :)
Ferdinand’s Ball was created by sisters Kim Boyle and Aimee Boyle Wulfeck, in honor of Ferdinand, the 1986 Kentucky Derby Winner and 1987 Horse of the Year. After making millions in the races, Ferdinand was sent to stud in Japan and, following his stud career, ended up in a slaughterhouse, which spurred an international outcry.
Proceeds from the gala will benefit Old Friends, the nonprofit Kentucky facility that rescues retired racehorses from neglect, abuse and slaughter. For more information, go to www.ferdinandsball.com.
