Queen Mary
Queen Mary is a retired ocean liner that sailed the north atlantic ocean from 1936 to 1967 for the
Cunard line.
Built by john Brown and Company Clydebank,Scotland, she was designed to be the first of Cunard's weekly express service from Southampton to Cherbourg to New York.
The sshiop is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is permanently berted in Long Beach serving as museum ship and hotel.
When the Queen Mary was bought by Long Beach, they decided that the ship would be an iconic host and not for preserving her as an ocean liner.
It had been decided to clear almost every area of the ship below to make way for the museum.
It required removal of all the boiler room, both turbo generator room.
